Welcome!
W.C. Clarke (William Christopher to his mother, Bill to
most, and Uncle Willie to a few select friends) has been
roasting, brewing and selling his own special coffees to
the
State College, PA natives for over 10 years.
Now, finally, after much cajoling and well-meaning flattery,
he has agreed to let the rest of the world in on a little known
Central PA secret.
If you were lucky enough to live in State College (home
to Penn State and the Nittany Lions), you could experience
the
joy of getting to work early (really early) and inhaling the
wonderful aromas emanating from Bill's roaster, wafting
through Calder Alley between 6 and 8 am. You can always
tell when it's a roasting day. The heady
aroma of Bill's latest
organic find (organic Peruvian, Zambian,
Yemen, to name
a few) wanders down the alley and draws you in.
No need to ask for a cup. Pour your own, throw
your change
on the counter. Only have a 20? Make your own change.
Bill's too busy watching his roasting
timer and talking with the
morning regulars.
So maybe you don't live in State College. But you
can have a
taste of it. And if you're ever in town, Bill would be honored
if you'd stop by. Bill's got
more than coffee...
The Cheese Shoppe has cheeses galore, not to mention fine
chocolates, oils & vinegars, a proud selection of locally baked
breads, and a lot of conversation and advice from
its
many patrons.
Thanks for visiting our site. We hope you'll come
back often.
